Proteomics and muscle biochemistry, multi-omics, LC-MS/FTIR metabolomics, lateral-flow immunoassays, animal stress physiology, natural antioxidants, meat preservation, waste valorisation, BSF bioconversion, bioinformatics and biostatistics.
Teaching, research and extension in Livestock Products Technology at KVAFSU. Previously Scientist/Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science), ICAR-KVK Vijayapura-INDI, UAS Dharwad, and Assistant Professor at Veterinary College Gadag.
Doctoral research at ICAR-IVRI and ICAR-NMRI explored transportation and slaughter stress, animal welfare and meat quality through proteomics and untargeted metabolomics, including rapid lateral-flow diagnostics. Master's research examined pomelo bioactive extract for spent goat meat quality and shelf-life.
Co-PI on SCSP, NFSM-Oilseeds, NFSM-Pulses and biofortified-crop demonstrations supported by ICAR-ATARI, Bengaluru, with total sponsored funding managed of ₹39,36,920.
IMSA Best Doctoral Thesis Award and Best Paper Award (2024), multiple best oral/poster presentation awards, and ANRF International Travel Grant for the 71st ICoMST in Spain (2025).
Research contributions include poultry by-product valorisation, meat packaging, stress biomarkers, halal/jhatka slaughter, pomelo preservation, collagen hydrolysates, gelatin authentication, metabolomics and Black Soldier Fly bioconversion. Recent publications include 2026 and 2025 peer-reviewed articles.
Courses handled include Livestock and Poultry Management, Milk and Milk Products Technology, Abattoir Practices and Animal By-products Technology, and Meat Science. Extension work includes farmer training, OFTs, FLDs and technology dissemination.
Advanced training in molecular/proteomic techniques, meat processing, omics, bioinformatics, animal welfare, circular economy and extension. Life member of IMSA, AIASA and AMST; registered practitioner with Karnataka Veterinary Council.
Current research interests connect animal welfare and pre-slaughter stress with molecular biomarkers, meat quality, rapid diagnostics, natural bioactives, circular bioeconomy approaches and value-added utilisation of livestock processing by-products.
